Stay is a charming word in a friend’s vocabulary. – Amos Bronson Alcott

I spent last weekend visiting my dear friend Maria. I went to her house Thursday after work and came home Monday in time to go to work again. We had an absolutely lovely time.

We watched The Hobbit movies. Neither of us had yet watched all three in close succession, so that was neat.

We cooked. And had tea parties. And drank lots of tea outside of the tea parties. And ate ice cream.

I got to meet her fiancé (it was about time). I liked him, so the wedding is now officially allowed to happen.

We talked a lot, and also enjoyed sitting in companionable silence. It’s really nice to be able to do both.

I don’t get to spend nearly enough time with Maria. But I’m incredibly thankful for her and for the time we do get to spend together.

  1. True friends are a rare treasure. Once you find one you have them your whole life through! Glad you had this time together and that she picked a good one!
